Modern Skirts

Jay Gulley grew up deep down a dirt road in Dewy Rose, Georgia and taught himself guitar at an early age, heavily under the influence of Beck and Brit pop. A little too strange for country living, Jay took to college for a few years and ended up in Athens where he and JoJo Glidewell wrote and recorded hundreds of songs, which eventually spawned Modern Skirts when Phillip Brantley and John Swint entered the fray. Jay’s inclinations eventually sent him spiraling into a cassette delirium which he’s still recovering from, and he continues to craft a reckless and prolific body of work when the band is not away on other adventures.
